Venture Concept 2
29A -Venture Concept No. 2
Opportunity:
- The opportunity I have decided to tackle is the lack of ability for college students to find availability in libraries and efficiently/conveniently study with friends. There is an obvious need for college students to have the option to check the availability of each library, as it is frustrating and difficult to find seats at certain part of the semester. The average student typically spends their time in the library during the day and in between classes, making it apparent that they do not spend most of their time set aside to study, walking around trying to find somewhere to sit.
Innovation:
- I have created an application that will allow students to see the availability for each library at a specific time. I am hoping to use some sort of technology that will enable students to check in and out using their wifi connection, making it something that is done automatically so students do not have to worry about checking in and out. The application will also include options to reserve tables, reserve rooms, and meet people in your class, allowing you to create study groups. The application user will have the option to put money into the app, by purchasing tokens. These tokens will allow users to reserve more tables, more rooms, and extra amenities.
Venture Concept:
- This solution will put any wasted time spent walking around, hopelessly trying to find a seat, to good use. Students will spend more time studying, meet more people in their class, develop relationships throughout campus, and improve academically. For students who like to study with friends, tables and rooms will be available. This will also allow the people around these specific groups to have a ore valued study time, considering the fact that typically these study groups tend to talk a lot or cause somewhat of a disruption. Although this is not a dire issue, it is something that is convenient and make the average student’s life easier.
Your second venture concept seems really well done and put together. The issue of having to spend a ton of time trying to find a place to study is definitely prevalent at UF and would be very helpful to have improved. I can see that putting in a model like you have in place to address this issue would most likely work very well. Your venture concept does a really good job in laying out this plan and how it will solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteThis is a real opportunity that we can all relate to. During exam time, the library is the worse place to go as you spend 30 minutes just looking for a seat. Then you have to hope the people around you aren't loud, annoying, or even sick. This app would take off if there was really a way to make it become reality. To take it one step further, maybe it could help firefighters or police know how many people were in the library in case of an emergency. I hope you continue with this concept as I would like to brag and tell people we took the same class.
